A message from the Chief

ADAA 2012 Annual Session
We had another great year at the ADAA Annual Session.  Myself and nine active duty dental assistant had the opportunity to serve as part of the ADAA Federal District.  We were able to attend the House of Delegates and see how this civilian organization conducts business. 
 
This year’s delegates were:  MSgt Cassandra Henderson, MSgt Francesca Seehausen, MSgt Richard McCain, MSgt Yolanda Mickens, TSgt Marsha Pitts, TSgt Odette Ramgeet, TSgt Alexander Pelante, A1C Scott Cross and A1C Morgan Rentfrow.
 
This was the first time for many of them to see the ADAA in action and how they advocate for the profession of dental assistants.
 
TSgt Ramgeet stated:  “I got to experience how the decisions that affect the profession were made”
 
A1C Rentfrow stated: “I feel honored to have received the opportunity to experience it. The proficiency of the session was impressive and I got a much greater feel for how important this association is to our profession.”
 
A1C Cross stated: “I’m glad I could be pulled out of my small world at my dental clinic to see the career as a whole, where it is going and how much of an impact a member can make. I believe why so many are not members are because they did not have a chance to see all that we did as delegates, because as I stated before this, I had no clue any of this even existed. “
 
Every year in the spring I send out a call to all our Air Force dental clinics for nominations for the year’s ADAA Federal District Delegate.  If this is something you want to be a part of consider volunteering to be an Air Force Delegate for 2013.
